Write a Review »This carrier takes only seconds to get on and get baby comfortable, and I never felt like there was any risk of suffocation with it. It is also great because baby can face in or out (once they have good head control). However, it really hurts my back after more than about half an hour, so I usually only use it when I have to run into a store or if I know I'll be able to sit a lot.
Also worth noting, this is the only baby carrier my husband will wear. It is not feminine and easily adjusted to fit another wearer, so this is a perfect carrier for mom and dad to share.
We really tried to be a family that constantly carried their kid, but it didn't happen. The moby took too long to put on, the ergo doesn't let him face out, and this is not comfortable for any sort of extended period at all. I have heard the newer models of the carriers alleviate some of that pain, but we have this original version and neither my husband or I could ever get comfortable carrying him. He did not like facing toward us, and even when he was old enough to hold his head up and face outwards, he still did not seem to be comfortable. He'd be good for about 5 minutes and then start to fuss. Perhaps it was more my baby and not this carrier but I would say if you have any sort of back problems or pain, I'd pass on this and look at the carriers that offer lower back support.
We used our baby bjorn all the time. It was not only great for hikes but we used it at a couple big fairs where a stroller would be a pain. One of us would carry the baby and the other had the back pack baby bag and we were off! My son was comfortable in it and took several naps comfortably in it while we were walking or hiking. It also came in handy around the house when he was being cranky and wanted to be held. I could strap him to me and fold laundry or make dinner. This was very easy to get on and off and get him in and out. I also recommend it because their customer service is excellent. I closed the back door on my truck on a strap and broke a clip on it, i was so disappointed and contacted company to see if i could order the clip and they sent me a label to ship the whole carrier back to them where they either fix it or if they decide it can't safely be fixed, they replace it. It was a such a quick and easy process and thankfully because I'm not sure what I would have done! Great product and great customer service.
We rarely used this item for our son. It made our backs hurt, and he hated not being able to move around much. He did love being up high, but only once he could look out. It was difficult to get him strapped in when you were on your own, and it made us both really hot.
This is a must for all parents. It's so easy to use and comfortable for the baby. It's versatile since it can be used with baby forward and rear facing. Strapping the baby in is simple and can be done safely without bothering with awkward wraps or snaps. The padding on the shoulders is nice as well. The only negative is that the baby's weight is more on your shoulders. If the baby is carried for too long, or is big, it may cause some soreness the next day. My husband uses the Bjorn to rock our 8 mo old to sleep. My son immediately rests his head on my husband's chest when he's placed in and falls asleep within 10 minutes.
I love the Baby Bjorne!! In the beginning, my baby always fell asleep in the bjorne, and I had my hands free to do what I needed to do. I always have the bjorne with me when I am out, so when baby gets fussy, I put her in the bjorne and it is an instant soother. The baby bjorne is very easy to use, and has worked well for both me (5'6") and my husband (6'1").
We purchased this product while I was pregnant. It had really good reviews. After baby was born and before good head control, baby didn't like it and momma didn't either. I tried wearing baby while doing things around the house and baby wouldn't lay head against my chest while facing me and so when I would move around the house, babys head would shift from side to side and/or from front to back. Since baby has good head control, it works great. You can face baby towards you or away from you. Very sturdy. Material is kind of thick, so it may be hot in the summer. My husband and I both use this product.
I used these at home and at daycare. They are wonderful. When baby was fussy and just wanted to be close to mommy this made it possible to cook, clean, or do other tasks that require two hands while still ring able to carry my baby and have her close. They were really helpful at daycare when I had my young daughter in class with me a few times and the older kids wanted to go for a walk I could carry her along with me.
This carrier is an easy choice to make, maybe a little pricey but you are paying for comfort which it possible, totally makes it worth while. It is easy to wear, adjust and put baby into and out of. I plan to use this carrier again with my second baby.
I use this all the time now that I have two small kids. The baby goes in here so I can chase the toddler. If I didn't have this I would never be able to leave the house. I know there are stories out there that this is not ergonomically correct and it's not good for babies hips, but I don't think it's any different than carrying a baby on your hip all day as far as their leg placement. I love this!
For my first baby I got the BabyBjorn and love it! It's easy to put on, put the baby in, and take her out. I used the carrier for my second and third baby. They are comfortable and happy. Face the baby in when they are infants and they stay cozy. Face the baby out as they are more in tune to the world and they love it! I was able to carry my second one in the carrier and push the stroller with my first one without being restricted.
Love this carrier and I have tried many different carriers.
Comfy an great for getting house work done without missing out on mommy-baby time
I have a baby that loves to be close to mommy. I would cook, clean, and play Bunco with my little one strapped on in the bjorn. It would allow me to have her close to me but not restrict my arms or ability to multitask as all moms will need to do.
this is great for very small babies that don't grow too quickly, both my sons were to big for this one at around 5 months would use tit for the first few months but not a long term carrier
My hubby loved this gift. It's the perfect must-have accessory for any father on the go! At 6'3" and 250 lbs, it fit him perfectly, baby and all. (The straps were easily adjustable so I could wear it too.) Baby was so comfortable in it against daddy's chest that she would sometimes sleep in it while he worked around the house. A great buy!
I loved it!! I can get things done and still feel close to my little guy! And he lived feeling close!
With our first we purchased a snugglie and while the idea is similar and it was MUCH cheaper, it was not nearly as comfortable to wear and use for me and my daughter! While this is a bit spendy it is very easy to get baby in and out of and even though I have a bad back, it is super comfy to wear even for long periods of time
I love this product. My daughter went through the clingy stage where she didn't want me putting her down, which made it impossible for me to get any task done. So I bought one of these carriers. I must say they a very easy to put on and to snap the baby in. She loves it, and so do I. I definitely am able to finish my house work and we are able to take walks where she can see a lot more than she would in a stroller ride.
I use my babyBjorn everytime we go to one of my kids sporting events. Baby is happy and content and I can have both my hands free for containing other two kids. I especially love the versatility of this carrier- forward or backward facing... both leave baby comfy.
