The instructions were very easy to follow and the bags were very easy to use. You can sanitize so much more than breast pump parts with these! I like that they are reusable, otherwise these would get expensive.
These are great! so quick and easy to use! I love using them not only for my pump parts but also for pacifiers. Love that they can be used 20 times!
Easy to use. Gets into places that maybe you miss while cleaning.
I liked using the bag to sterilize the parts. It was simple and fast. Not messy at all. I used mine everynight after my last pumping session. I would clean all the pieces off and then toss them in the bag. Microwave it for the time and be done! Since I traveled to work with my pump I felt like it needed a good cleaning at night. This helped me feel like my pump was clean each day. I liked that it really wasn't hard and it didn't make a mess. And it also did not take up room on the counter.
The bag is very durable and although it doesn't wash the bottles and its parts for you, knowing all the little pieces will be sterilized and germ free is great peace of mind with this item. We also have different products for sterilizing, but this is just a great item for when traveling and at those hotels where you have a microwave.
This has got to be one of the most convenient baby items out there. You can sanitize just about anything, from bottles to breast pump parts to pacifiers. They're great for home and especially great on-the-go-- you can leave home with only a couple bottles, and if you pump there's no need to worry about bringing lots of extra accessories with you-- you can easily keep everything clean and sanitized anywhere you have access to a microwave.
We used these bags many times when travelling. I would not only put pump accessories in it, but bottles, nipples, and pacifiers. It is easy to use and quick. Just read the direction carefully and be careful when opening the bag b/c the steam is hot. 20 uses per bag is no joke and it has a place for check marks to keep track of how many times you've used it.
I only use these for steaming my manual pump supplies, but not the bottles. The first time I steamed them, and when my son was very small I steamed the bottles and nipples, but now that is over 6 weeks I just wash the bottles/nipples in hot water. I think one bag (20 uses) was enough for about a week, so 5 bags should be all you need.
I used these steam bags for the first couple of months while breastfeeding my daughter. The bags are great size and you can fit a good amount in the bag even bottles (I use glass). It started to become too much of a hassle to use the bag after each pumping/feeding session. The bag was also so hot after removing it from the microwave it would burn my fingers. I also noticed the bag and contents would have a bit of a rancid smell so I stopped using them. Since you can use each bag up to 20 times I only used a few.
These are great to sanitize not only breast pump equipment, but pretty much anything! They are easy to use and I love that there is a place to track your usage of them in the bag so you know when it's time for a new one.
The Medela Quick Clean bags are great if you only want to sterilize breast pump tubing and a few other items. The bags are just too small to be really practical. I got a box with my first baby, but still have them now that I've already had my second child. With the amount of bottles/breast pumping items that need to be sterilized regularly, I just end up using the large Avent steam sterilizer that I have. Like most other moms, I also find myself not sterilizing as much after the first child.
I used these everyday at work in addition to washing the pump parts and bottles. You are able to wash what you can see but you can't see bacteria can you? I figured if I go through the hassle of pumping at work shouldn't I make sure I am not contaminating the precious breast milk for my baby. These gave me peace of mind that everything was sterile and clean.
I put a ton of these on my registry. As a first time mom, I SWORE I'd sanitize everything. In reality, who does that?? Not me. Most have gone un-used. I used them the most in the first month until I realized I am washing the items with pretty darn hot water already, what is this bag doing that I'm not? The answer: Not much.
Worked great! I am not as religious about sanitizing as some other moms since I wash with soap and hot water. Never had any problems with my kids picking up bacteria or anything, but an occasional steaming in these bags was always quick and easy. The bags last a really long time!
I put these bags on my registry when expecting my first baby. They have proven to be a lifesaver when it comes to cleaning parts. As a first time parent, I'm CRAZY about sterilizing things before giving them to my son. The Medela steam bags are quick and easy to use. And it's easier than using the traditional microwavable steamer tray if you only need to wash breast pump tubing or a couple of pacifiers.
One con to this product is that the bag is soo hot when you take it out of the microwave. You tip the bag to drain the water and sometimes the steam burns your fingers! OUCH
In the few days following my youngest sons delivery, I sent my mother out to purchase a few supplies I had not purchased yet. I sent her to pick up some milk storage bags, and instead she came home with the steam bags. I probably would not have purchased them on my own, but since she got them, I read the directions and gave them a try. They are truly heaven-sent! They saved me so much time and hassle. I steamed all of my breast pump parts and storage containers in less than 3 minutes in the microwave. and to think, I would have STILL been waiting on my boiled water to heat up.... When time (and sleep) is precious, the best thing a mom with a newborn can get is something time-saving and easy.
Medela Quick Clean Micro-Steam Bags are so useful when you rely on a pump to provide milk for your baby. I relied on a Medela pump for 8 weeks, every 3 hours to provide milk for my baby in the NICU. It was such a quick process and great assurance to know that you've gotten rid of any bacteria that could be harmful for your new little one. They help to make a process that is already time-consuming a little more simple. Highly recommended over boiling items to sterilize!
We used these regularly, as I nursed my first for a year. Even with all of the pumping that I was doing, we never had an issue with her getting sick from a not-clean-enough bottle. It's also nice that you can get multiple uses out of a single bag.
I love love love these bags. As a busy mom to 3, i don't have time to spend sanitizing everything in boiling water or a dishwasher. I love that i can sterilize everything from pump parts and pacifiers to teething toys and beyond in this bag. It comes with a convenient check box where you mark the bag every time you use it--then you remember when it is time to switch to a new bag. (small note: a permanent marker like a Sharpie works best on it). The one thing i've noticed is that you definitely need to rinse things off before you put them in the quick clean steam bag--if you don't, things might get crusted onto it. As long as you keep in mind that it's a sterilizer, not a true washer/cleaner, these are marvelous!
I've used these while pumping for both of my children. They are light weight enough for travel and only take a few minutes in the microwave to clean parts. I usually steam clean 1 time per day, so the bags last a long time.
I used these bags to sterilize my breath pump peices after every pumping. Simply rinse your peices, place in bag and adds water to the fill line. Zip it closed and heat in microwave 3 Minutes. I felt safe using my pump over and over knowing my parts were clean. Each bag can be used up to ten times I believe. I definitely recommend this product if breast feeding.
Love these bags, there super easy to use and best of all quick and effective! A must have for my family, between pumping parts, bottles, nipples etc it really helps to have these!
I bought a pack of these when I went back to work thinking it would make quick work of cleaning the large amount of pump parts I used (I initially pumped four times a day). Unfortunately, they don't seem to save any time. You still need to thoroughly wash the parts so you can just as easily sterilize a lot more parts in a pot of boiling water.
