As a breastfeeding mamma who stays home, I never found need for it, and we didn't use puréed food with our baby, so no Ned for it there either. The times I did use it to warm frozen milk or for a friend visiting, I found it unpredictable as far as how hot the milk actually got. Even though I used the same amount of water for the same size bottle, I would get varied results for needing to be warmed more to being scalding hot. Not worth it!
My husband liked this much more than I did. The measuring stick that comes with it is not that useful, but once you figure out how much water you need, the bottle warmer did what it was supposed to. Depending on the amount of milk to be warmed, we found it sometimes made the milk too warm and then we had to wait until it cooled. We didn't use it as much as I thought since I breastfed and stored pumped milk immediately in the freezer in bags. I was afraid to warm the bags in the bottle warmer and would just thaw them in warm water.
This seemed to work just as quickly to me as running the bottle under hot water. I breastfed most of the time and when we did bottles, I taught my son early on to take a room temp bottle with water I stored in a brita on the counter so I never really used this as much as I envisioned (I am a rookie mom, before he was born I pictured myself faithfully using this every 3 hours for bottles. In reality, that never happened and I'm not sure it happens for many busy moms...) Save yourself the cash with this one, a glass of hot water to set the bottle in works just as well!
