Cloud B Sleep Sheep Plush Sound Machine with Four Soothing Sounds

Cloud B Sleep Sheep Plush Sound Machine with Four Soothing Sounds

I never had one of these sound machines when my son who is now almost 10 so didn't think I needed one with my daughter. Good think someone got us one of these as a gift for my daughter who is now 4 1/2 months old. Even on the fussiest nights, we put her down and turn her sheep on (her favorite is the rainfall sound) and she's out in under 5 minutes. Same for nap time. So far we haven't had to change the batteries at all and we use it every night, and throughout the day so the battery life so far I can't complain about. The only down side is that now we're getting ready to transition her into her own room and crib from a bassinet in our room and I'm thinking I may need to buy another because I'm so used to the soothing sounds to fall asleep now!

I originally never thought I'd need a Boppy -- I'm not a breastfeeding mom, we use formula so never really had a Boppy on my wish list. We ended up getting one before my daughter was born as a gift though and let me tell you, breastfeeding is not the only use for one of these. My daughter is almost 5 months old now and we've used our Boppy from day one to lay her in on the couch by us or in the bed with us while watching TV before placing her in her bassinet for the night. It works great so my young nieces and nephews can still "hold" the baby when they come over. When our daughter got sick with RSV it was a life saver because we were able to lay her down still propped up a bit so she could breathe better because although I'd love to, I couldn't sit and hold her 24/7. We've also used it for tummy time before she gained the strength to push herself up with her arms which made tummy time last a bit longer than it would have. I'm sure we'll fine numerous other uses as we go, but a Boppy is definitely not just for breastfeeding moms.

Diaper Genie Elite Diaper Disposal System

I love the Diaper Genie Elite! It is so convenient and hands free lets me keep hold of my roly poly baby when disposing of the diapers. I am able to easily fit a weeks worth of size 2 diapers in there before I have to take out the garbage. Also I can use one refill for about a month, at least 3 weeks, which is good because unless you find them on sale the refills are a bit pricey. When you only have to buy one a month though it's not so bad for a smell free nursery -- this system is also a life saver for anyone that may have dogs that enjoy retrieving diapers out of the regular garbage. The only reason I didn't give it a five is the price of the refills -- other than that I can't imagine not having a Diaper Genie.

Graco SnugRide 35 Infant Car Seat

I've used the Graco SnugRide 35 Infant Car Seat for almost 5 months now. I have the extra base that can be purchased for about $50 so that we can easily snap it in and out of either of our vehicles. The car seat is easy to manage and is very easy to snap in and out of the base. The level-indicator lets you know that everything is in the right spot. The neck insert is great but only for about the first month -- after that it's a little too big and caused baby's head to get too hot. The seat is a little large, but I think most infant seats are. It fits fine in our Dodge Charger and GMC Sierra Extended Cab but is a tight fit in the Jeep Wrangler and the VW Jetta. The other think I love about the car seat is that the straps are very easily adjustable allowing you to easily loosen them to get baby in and out of the car seat and the seat is adaptable to a variety of strollers other than Graco -- I am able to use mine with my Jeep jogger as well. Finally, the cover is easy to take off and wash every week or so or whenever needed as we all know babies are sometimes hard to keep clean. Overall a great seat for the price and I would highly recommend.
